How it works
Filtration and UV-C do different jobs. Particles and the organisms riding on them are taken out by the filters; what passes through meets the lamps in a chamber designed to hold it there long enough to matter.
Takes out the coarse load so the expensive filters last.

Tested by microbiology laboratories under both field and laboratory conditions, against airborne and static organisms — gram positive and gram negative bacteria, moulds and spores. Performance trials were carried out in hospitals in and around Pune.
They are asked about together, and they are not the same machine. The Air Sterilizer filters the air — five stages ending in HEPA — and adds UV-C on the way through. It is wall mounted and covers 2,500 cu ft. The Steribox does not filter at all: it is a sealed UV-C unit for a smaller space, 25 m³, that stands on the floor and can be moved between rooms.
If particulate matters — theatres, clean rooms, burns units — you want the Air Sterilizer. If the concern is purely airborne micro-organisms in a single room, the Steribox is simpler and cheaper to run.
